Hi, I’m Ava, a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) passionate about helping people feel seen, supported, and empowered in their mental health journey. I earned my Master’s in Nursing from Eastern Kentucky University in May 2025, after spending seven years as a psychiatric nurse working with children, teens, and adults in a variety of settings. Those years taught me not only the clinical side of mental health care, but also the importance of compassion, trust, and truly listening to each person’s story.

I have experience supporting clients through depression, anxiety, eating disorders, substance use disorders, and other mental health concerns, as well as navigating moments of crisis. My approach is holistic and patient-centered, meaning we’ll look at the full picture of your well-being—not just symptoms—to create a plan that feels right for you. I combine evidence-based medication management with open collaboration alongside the therapy team so that you’re supported from multiple angles.

At the heart of my work is the belief that everyone deserves a safe space to be honest about what they’re going through and to explore what healing could look like for them. My goal is to meet you where you are, help you feel understood, and work together toward the changes you want to see in your life

Psychiatry Policy:

At Ataraxia, we never push medication as a “quick fix.” We believe in a client-focused approach that carefully weighs the risks and benefits of psychiatry, and we view medication as one of many tools that may support your mental health. Ava values open and collaborative conversations, exploring both holistic options and therapeutic supports alongside medication, so together you can decide what feels right for your unique needs.
