Psychiatry Services at Ataraxia Counseling
At Ataraxia Counseling, we know that healing often requires a holistic approach. While therapy is a powerful tool for growth and change, sometimes medication can also be a helpful part of the journey. That’s why we’re proud to offer psychiatric services and medication management with our board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Ava Suleiman, PMHNP-BC and accept select insurance plans through Headway.
What is Psychiatry?
Psychiatry focuses on the medical side of mental health, including evaluating symptoms, diagnosing conditions, and prescribing medication when appropriate. At Ataraxia, we believe in pairing psychiatry with counseling for a comprehensive and collaborative approach to your care.
Psychiatry Services Offered
Initial Psychiatric Evaluation
Your first visit is a detailed and comprehensive initial psychiatric evaluation where your provider will ask many questions to identify problem areas and work together with you to develop an individualized treatment plan. If medications are prescribed, your provider will select the best options based on your needs and lifestyle.

Medication Management
Our follow-up medication management visit is a complete follow-up and includes medication management and psychotherapy. You can discuss any side effects, ask questions, and monitor the progress and success of your treatment. Each patient's plan is unique but monthly visits are the most popular.
